Star Wars Posters - Visual Research

The Family Guy Episode "Blue Harvest" aired in 2006.

This of course is the original poster to the Star Wars. Below is the Family Guy mock poster for their Star Wars Episode. The saying goes "mimicry is the sincerest form of flattery". The original poster uses the the background and foreground really well to show all of the characters and who has the most power. Darth Vader all the way in the background above everyone else which is conveying strength, power, and his dark helmet being black and shadow like represents evil and the dark side. I don't think I have to explain the movie because, well, everyone has seen it and knows of it but the poster itself tells the story. It has many points of where to look and where the eyes drift to. Manly Luke, Leia, and Han because they are at the center of the poster but then the shots from the gun lead us to the other secondary characters like Obi Wan, C3PO, R2D2, and Chewbaca.

Once again the similarities with the two posters are superb. I think Family Guy did a good job recreating the feeling that many of us feel when we see the Star Wars Posters.
